I thought it was and wanted to recreate it adding my own touches to use as my swap card at REGIONALS today. Yep...I'm in Pheonix having a day of fun!

I finally had a minute to sit down and complete the rest of my Make-N-Take projects (some of them I left to make at home because I didn't want them to get smashed and ruined in my luggage)...and now I want to share them with you.

Just some more pictures from Leadership to share with you today. We had so much fun and learned so much while we were there. The main stage presentations were terrific, the breakout classes were filled with ideas, the product showcase was filled with lots of goodies and projects to get the creative juices flowing, and the share fair was insightful & helpful.

We enjoyed a delicious lunch each day sitting with new demonstrators....Tammy Morgan from Arden, NC, Sharon Wheet from Albuquerque, NM (Sharon's Blog), and Tammy Fite from Albuquerque, NM (Tammy's Blog)...just to name a few.

I also met a wonderful gal named Jen Blank. She invited me to sit with her and her group (from Florida) during the Make-N-Takes and I had a blast with them.

It's kinda of weird to make friends so quickly in just a matter of days and feel like you will have a life long friendship...but with SU! demonstrators, that's just how it is!

So it was our third and final day at Leadership here in San Antonio, Texas...and it has been such a BLAST to be here and experience everything. I have taken OVER 600 photos during these three days and in the next few weeks I'll be sharing a lot of those with you.

LEADERSHIP - Day 2

I've had such a BLAST today and learned so many new things, shared ideas and tips with other demonstrators, made some great new friends at lunch, enjoyed fun filled classes and demonstrations, and I just got back from a (4) hour CARD SWAP which was WONDERFUL to be able to participate in! All in all it's been a fabulous day...but I'm beat! A hot shower and then off to bed, but I did want to share some photos with you - SO ENJOY!

LEADERSHIP - Day 1

So I left Tucson today and headed to San Antonio, Texas for SU! Leadership. I ended up flying out by myself because my dear friend Sue B. was really sick this morning and headed to a hospital to get checked out for kidney stones. I received a call from her about about 2 hours after arriving saying that she had gotten a different flight and was on her way - YEAH!!! I'm so excited she's on her way and were going to have a blast.

So I wanted to share a couple of FIRSTS with you that I experienced today...

Flew for the third time in my life...but my FIRST time alone. I headed from Tucson, AZ to San Diego and had a layover. Then headed from San Diego to San Antonio...and man was it ever a white knuckle flight for me during the last part of the trip....turbulence like you wouldn't believe! This is how bad I was...the guy on the other side of the isle...well he was laughing at me. It was so bad I called my husband Scott and told him I wasn't flying home, he'd have to come get me in Texas or I'd have to start taking prescription drugs and drinking alcohol to get me back on a plane! It sure will be nice to fly home with someone I know by my side!

My next FIRST is that I met Becky Roberts {Inking Idaho} and her wonderful BFF, Kim Sinclair {Kim's Creative Niche}. They were in front of me in the line for a taxi cab and we got talking and they invited me to share a taxi to the hotel...FUN, FUN RIDE - Thanks gals!

And my final FIRST was my first taxi ride ever.

So today has been filled with highs and lows for me and now that I'm here, have picked up my DARLING bag, went to the Make-N-Take session and made more new friends...I'm READY for tomorrow morning and the Opening Session!

Southwest Demonstrator Christmas Party...

Thanks for coming back to check in on our Christmas swap gifts. Above and also below you will see several pictures of my swap gift - {Photo Cube Boxes} for Valentines Day. The designer paper and some of the embellishments will not look familiar to you and that's because some became available yesterday when the Occasions Mini Catalog went live...and the others will be available January 24th thru March 31st during Sale-A-Bration.
I LOVED putting this together (I need to make me one now!) and it was fairly easy. I started with some sturdy paper cubes and just applied my designer paper and embellishments. The receiver can hang/attach photos, love notes, or valentines to it and display them.

SO...where have I been???

So I had a GREAT Thanksgiving...then didn't feel well by the weekend. Went to church on the Sunday after Thanksgiving with my family and passed out and stopped breathing. Went by ambulance to the hospital and spent 6 VERY LONG days, with lots of tests and medicine, finally they found out that my stomach does not contract so the food just sits there and causes a bacteria infection, and my gall bladder also needed to be removed. Not exactly what I had planned for that weekend and it actually set me back quite a bit with being in the hospital and also having to recover at home...so much so, I didn't even get homemade Christmas cards sent this year! But we did take a family photo (below) one day after church so that I could use it in a New Years letter...which is STILL not done:-(
The ONLY good thing to come out of this whole ordeal is that I've lost 24 lbs since surgery - yeah!
I was able to "Play" a little during December and thought I'd share a few pics with you...better late than never right?!
Check back tomorrow to see the gift that I made for our demonstrator Christmas party (a BIG shout out of THANKS to Mary Fish for stepping in to hostess the party at the last minute for me!) I also have pictures of the other gifts that were swapped and made by some VERY creative demos.

KIDS PROJECT!

This is a great weekend project for kids and their friends to be able fill some of their weekend time up.

We used the BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES & FUN FLOWERS DIES along with the BIG SHOT to make these darling hair accessories.
I had a group of (10) girls ages 10 & 11 over and in an hour they were each able to make (1) flower ponytail holder & (1) butterfly bobby pin accessory. They all had a blast making them and we talked about good hair care hygiene, and then each girl got their hair styled with one of their accessories in it.
Fun was had by all and it's a great way to use the BIG SHOT and DIES!

I stamped my image on my card stock first (I used the Elements of Style set), colored it in with my Stampin' Up! Markers, then I cut it out using the die and Big Shot. I added some pearl accents for even more dimension and used the crimper on my Card Stock.

I used the PENNANT PARADE stamp set and the PETITE PENNANTS punch to create this card. Need a "guy" card...simply leave off the rhinestone, flower, and heart embellishments and stick to stars and geometric shapes & designs.

Scrap Paper Fun!

Everyone has scraps of card stock and designer papers laying around from previous projects...so why not try this card idea. The kites are made using scraps of DSP. The small kite is 2" x 2" square and the larger kits is a 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" square.
Simply make your folds, add some bakers twine, linen thread, or hemp cord and a few punched out items for the tails. I sponged the clouds using a template from a punched scallop circle, and finished the card by adding a greeting.
My friend and side line, Karen Reid, shared this card with me from her swaps at convention...sadly there was no information on the back of the card to give anyone credit for this terrific idea!
I LOVED it so much...I made them for my down line and sent them off in the mail last week.
So pull out your scraps and start playing and creating!

Yesterday I shared a card that I made using the same set - "DARING ADVENTURE". Today's card idea came from a SU! sample card using this set.
I just made some minor adjustments and added a few items to change it up a bit.
This is a great way to be able to use a set that seems like it would only be a "GUY" set...but simply change the colors, add a few "GIRLY" embellishments, and you have a versatile set that makes your stamp purchase even more worth while!

This was such a FUN card to create!
I was excited to have some fellow demonstrators come over to stamp. Everyone was in charge of bringing a card/project for all of us to make. This card (I called it "flying the coop") was the one that I shared with them. It's always fun to get together to stamp and enjoy each others company...but especially to make great items!

TECHNIQUE: "Kissing"

YEP!
You heard me right...KISSING.
This is such a great and simple technique, but full of WOW quality for any beginning or seasoned stamper. I used the ORNATE BLOSSOM stamp and the DOT, DOT, DOT stamp.
I first inked up the ORNATE BLOSSOM stamp with CRUMB CAKE, then Inked up my DOT, DOT, DOT stamp with EARLY ESPRESSO.
Then I took my DOT, DOT, DOT stamp and kissed my ORNATE BLOSSOM stamp. By KISSING...I mean stamping one stamp to another.
The effect is amazing and SO SIMPLE! The reverse to this KISSING method would be ink up one stamp image and then stamp another image to actually remove ink from the main stamp.
TIP: A solid stamp image works best for your base stamp.
Have fun trying this great technique!

Well I had 5 minutes before I had to walk out the door for church and realized I had forgotten to make reminders for my girls group activity for this week!

Bog Shot Project Idea...

This week for a {Big Shot Project Idea} I wanted to share a card I received in a group swap from my up line - Sue Brown.
She used the Flower Garden Embossing Folder and Pastel Chalks to create a BEAUTIFUL card.

The Floral Garden Textured Impressions Embossing Folder lets you create instant floral masterpieces all year round! The deep embossed look adds interest, dimension, and texture on single layers of card stock and Designer Series Paper. Folder coordinates with the Beyond the Garden suite and measures 4-1/2" x 5-3/4".

Sue embossed once directly on the card (purple flowers), and then she embossed again , twice, on separate pieces of paper. She then applied Pastel Chalks and cut them out. The orange flowers are adhered directly to the card with adhesive (snail or glue)...and the teal flowers are pop dotted up for a little 3-d effect. She also used a greeting and the Jewelery Tag Punch to complete the card.

Today I wanted to share this card with you that uses the {ELEMENTS OF STYLE} stamp set. I stamped the flower image in Black StazOn Ink and then used my pastel chalks to add color. I took a length of Crumb Cake Seam Binding...spritzed it with some water and crunched it up. I let that dry for awhile before using it. I added some rhinestones for some bling, and cut out the bird for added dimension.
