Scrapbook Basics!

Did you know???

Scrapbooking has been around since people were able to develop film and have photos in their possession. It is a way to visually preserve moments, feelings, or experiences in your life that might otherwise be written down or even forgotten.

It all started in 1976 when Marielen W. Christensen, began keeping a book of photographs in new devices called "Sheet Protectors". By 1980 she had assembled over fifty of these books, and she was asked to display them at the World Conference on Records in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Since then the door of scrapbooking has been opened and flooded by people wanting unique and interesting ways to remember their pasts, their feelings, their likes and dislikes, and their experiences.

Scrapbooking is a great way to provide future generations with a history, or at least a peek into the life you and your family are living right now. Scrapbooking doesn't have to be on a grand scale...start small and evolve into this great craft. Start with a birthday, graduation, marriage, or even a vacation that just happened. Don't try to start at the very'll just get overwhelmed. Start Small and big things will come from it!
