Monday's Big Shot Project Idea...

Today I wanted to share with you these fun aluminum flowers made from the FLOWER FOLDS BIGZ XL DIE. Rachel G demonstrated these at our monthly SW Demonstrator meeting this last Tuesday night. She had a couple of helpful hints on how to do these...
  • Whether it's a monster, green tea, beer, or soda can the taller the better. You need (2)
  • Rinse out very well.
  • Insert some scissors and cut off the top and bottom of can to exspose a flat piece of aluminum.
  • Run the pieces through your Big Shot using the FLOWER FOLDS DIE. Then if you want your flowers to have a design, run them through your embossing folders.
  • Now you can add some color. Take Craft Ink Pads in desired color(s) and do a "direct to paper" technique...but just to the aluminum. Let dry or use a heat tool. After it cools you can take a corner of a rag and lightly buff some of the color.
  • Assemble - you can use several methods, Dimensionals, Crystal Effects, a rivet gun, lexel clear bond, or even an eyelet.
  • To make them float in water, tub, pool, etc...you need to add cork in between the flowers and use Crystal Effects to hold the cork and flowers together like the one in the picture above. DO NOT POKE ANY HOLES IN ONES YOU WANT TO FLOAT...for obvious reasons - the water will get through!

A Big thanks to Rachel for her demonstration and her directions!

HAVE FUN! - Kendra
