NOVEMBER - Demonstrations for the Card & Project Club and Scrapbook Club
Here are the items I demonstrated for the month of November, with a Christmas theme!
I had one of these at each club members place when they arrived. This is a simple 3x3 place card that you could use for Thanksgiving, or change up the colors and stamp choice and make one for another occassion. Place some candy by it when decorating your table settings for the final touch! This a fun and really quick and simple card for those of us that are always on the go and in a hurry! I used a 6x6 piece of Bashful Blue cardstock scored at 3". I then used the Jumbo Wheel - Snow, with a bashful Blue Cartridge. I wheeled it across length wise twice, and then used 5/8" Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon with (2) Vintage brads. Then I used a Circle Rhinestone brad to adhere the Snowflake (from the Little Felt Flurries in the mini catalog) to a peice of Real Red cardstock square. Once the card was all put together, I used Stickles to add some glitter to the snowflake.
This card uses the Spotlight On Christmas set. This set is perfect to use with your punches. I used Garden Green and Real Red cardstock, and Treasured Christmas DSP. The sentiment is from the set Warm Words - which is on our dormant list.
I love the idea of using these cute boxes on a kids table as place settings. Fill them with treats and small games to keep them entertained while the adults visit and eat. Cover the kids table with butcher paper, and with a black crayon draw simple Christmas items like a bell, ornament, candy cane, etc. Then in each box include a set of crayons so that the kids can have some fun coloring the designs on their table! This is one of my most favorite pages to make at Christmas time. I love making trees out of designer papers. The papers I used on this page come from the mini catalog and is called Ski Slope. I LOVE this set of DSP. It's so fun to use on cards, pages and projects! Start by making different sized rectangles from the DSP. Then cut from one corner to the other diagonally to create your trees.
I got this idea from someone else. This page is full of vibrant colors and when pictures of family members around the tree are added, it looks beautiful. These colors used are: Bashful Blue 12x12, More Mustard 12x12, Old Olive 12x12 and Real Red 8 1/2x11. This was the Make-N-Take page the members of the Scrapbook Club made. We created a pocket page for Christmas keepsakes using the Textured Kiwi Kiss 12 x 12 Cardstock. To trim the top of the pocket, we used a 1 inch strip of designer paper from Treasured Christmas. The pointsettias are from the Spotlight On Christmas stamp set and can be punched out with the 5-Petal Flower Punch. Then use a paper Piercer to make a tiny hole, and stick a brad in. Use a dimensional on the back to pop them off the page. We also used 5/8" Regal Rose Grosgrain ribbon and Satin Kiwi Kiss Ribbon to add a little to the page.
These Christmas tags use a "Faux Emerging Color" technique. Use a bold image stamp. I used the reindeer from the Winter Post set, and then heat emboss using a Versa Mark pad and Clear Embossing Powder right on the Designer Series Paper. then using a sponge dauber and Chocolate Chip ink, rub it all over your imagge and the designer paper. This will take a few layers. On about the second or third layer, the design from the paper will also start to stand out. The use a kleenex or paper towel to gently rub over the embossed image to remove any ink that might be there. I then punched it out using the Small Tag punch, layering onto a piece of DSP punched out with the Large Tag punch. To finish it off, I stamped in Silver Encore Ink the To/From and used Silver Elastic Cording from the mini catalog. This is a neat effect using the DSP to emerge the designs & colors from different papers. This idea came from Shelli Gardner's daughter, Sara. She posted the technique and some cards at SoShelli.com

Another Card and Stamp Set For You!
I didn't think that I'd like this small set of four stamps called "A Flower For All Seasons" - pg. 87 in the catalog - $14.95. But I do love it! Yes...another set I love. I think when you see a set used in a card, page or project, it's easier to visualize how you would use it. So below is a card I made using this set. I hope it inspires you with ideas.
I used Glorious Green, Orchid Opulence, and Whisper White cardstocks. Basic Black ink, and a discontinued ribbon that I had in my stash. I used various ink pads and a blender pen to color in the image.
