Scrapbook Basics!

Photo mats are the most basic scrapbook page embellishments, however they can also become some of the most prominent when you include some exciting scrapbooking techniques. Do you decorate with punches, stickers, buttons, brads, hand-stitching? Have you tried any of these ideas before on your pages...edge tearing, faux stitching, paper piercing, glitter, or using gel pens to create your photo mats??? The pictures below shows a couple of these techniques and how to spice up your pages photo mats.
Use several pictures within one photo mat as seen with this pages circle photo mat.
Use punches to create interesting focal points on your picture mat.
Use ribbon to embellish your photo mat on your page and add a delicate touch.
Use punches to create your photo mat as seen here. She created a photo mat by using the scallop circle punch.
Step outside of the box and create wonderful projects using some of these great ideas.
