Sunday Share...TUTORIAL!

So today as promised...I have a photo tutorial for you on how to create an {EASEL CARD} and it looks harder than it is!
This is a side view.

Start with a base color of CS and cut it @ 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".

Cut in the same base color of CS another piece 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" (MY PINK NOTE MEASURMENTS ARE WRONG!).

Then score it @ 5 1/2" (half of the card) & 2 11/16" (which is one side in half again)

Put Red Sticky Tape on your flap.

Adhere your 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" piece where the sticky strip is.

Cut a piece of Whisper White CS 4" x 3 3/4".

Cut a second piece of Whisper White CS 5" x 3 3/4".

Then decorate and adhere those pieces to the front of your card parts.

Close up of the embellishments that keep the {EASEL CARD} opened. You have to have some sort of embellishment that will hold the upper easel part in place.

This is a picture of the card opened up. The GREAT thing about this card...is that it will fold up and fit into a regular card sized envelope:)

Tuesday's Punch Fun Idea...

Today I have a Punch Fun Idea for you to try. Below you will see the card that features a punched dress. You will need (3) punches to create this dress...the Large Oval, Small Square, and the Modern Label. Now...you can use other punches that are similar, but these are what I chose. This design is based on a swap card I got from the Southwest Demonstrator's Group here in Tucson. Just follow the tutorial below. You will need (1) square, (5) Ovals, and (2) Modern Labels punched from your choice of Designer Series Paper (I'm using Springtime Vintage) or Card Stock.Take your (2) Modern Labels and use as dress straps on your square (the bodice of the dress).You can accent it by adding brads as I did. Rhinstones would be cute too!Layer the (5) Large Ovals to be the skirt.Adhere the skirt to behind the square.
Add a ribbon if you choose to accent the waist on the dress.

Place your dimensonals on the back.Adhere to card and stamp a greeting. I used a stamp from the TEENY TINY WISHES set. It was perfect so that I could include a shopping gift card for the recipiant. Have fun trying this super cute PUNCH FUN idea!

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

I LOVED this weeks color challenge colors! I took my cue from the circles in their photo and implemented them into my card because I liked them so much.

ITEMS I USED...

Card Stock: Green Galore, Pink Passion, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White

Ink Pads: Black StaZon, Green Galore, Pink Passion, Yo Yo Yellow, Pretty In Pink, & Chocolate Chip.

Punches: Scallop Oval, Large Oval, 1", 3/4", & 1/2" Circle Punches.

Other: Stapler, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Soft Subtle Brads, 5/8" Regal Rose Grosgrain, Sponge Dauber.

I made a pull out card for challenge card. I lined up the Scallop Oval punch/saying with the scallop Oval Punch opening on the Chocolate Chip CS. I ran the ribbon along the inside of the card by using my exacto knife to cut a slit for it. Then used Red Sticky Tape to adhere together.

I water colored the cupcake from the Crazy For Cupcakes Set I used. I also used a piece of ribbon for a pull tab behind the greeting to make it easier to pull in & out.

Scrapbook Progress...

Just an update on my progress with my scrapbooking goal. For those of you who didn't see the post on the 1st of May...I set a goal since it's National Scrapbook Month. My personal goal is to get (10) pages done in the month. May and December are always hectic at our house! How about yours? With a high school graduation, out of town family, extra classes scheduled, a scout camp out to the Black River, going out of town, two weddings,etc... it can get really hectic! So that's my goal - (10) pages and I've completed (3). YEAH!


This page is a favorite - only because the pictures are from 1973 when my family went camping. I was only five then, but I love the pictures of my mom and brothers!














I have SO many soccer pictures from over the twelve years Jake has been playing soccer! I just haven't gotten around to scrapbooking them yet.
I came across these and they are some of my favorites because Scott coached Jake's team with our friend, Steve Kaplan. The boys had a great time... and the coaches had a winning season!









These are some fun pictures. They are from 1996. Jessica had started Kindergarten and during the spring, came down with the Chicken Pox. A few weeks later Jake had them and it just happened to be during Easter. So it's fun to be able to scrapbook both on one page!
My thoughts for this page were to cut strips and use them in some way...but I found myself weaving them and tacking them down as I went along. Kind of a different page element, but I like the way it turned out!
