Color Throw Down Challenge Card

For this weeks Color Throw Down Card, I made a spinner card. You make a track using your Word Window Punch and then sandwich (1) dimesional between (2) pennies. Put the pennies within the track and attach your image that you want to spin. Use dimesionals (x's 2 for thickness) on the back of your CS that you punched your track from so that it does not lay directly against your bottom layer of CS...this will free your image/pennies to spin across your card with ease.

SET USED: Look Who's Turning...

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

Hi there stampers,
Todays Color Throw Down Challenge Card was so fun to make. I really like this color combination! So the stamps I used today are the Medallion background stamp, Short & Sweet, and Upsy Daisy. I used a technique called stamp off...stamp on, so I inked my Upsy Daisy stamp with the first color, Crushed Curry, and stamped off very lightly on scratch paper and then stamped it on my CS. Then I repeated with the Melon Mambo ink. I heat embossed the medallion with clear embossing powder. The Strip of crushed curry was achieved by using my Scallop Edge Punch on both sides of a 3/4" strip.
ENJOY & HAPPY STAMPING,
KENDRA
P.S. Don't forget to look at other fabulous cards using this same color combo HERE. I have taken a peek at a few and they are great!

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

I used all the colors, except the Basic Gray (I didn't have any) but substituted some DSP in a grayish color from Bella Blue. I used the set Friends 24-7 and some clear window sheets to make a see through window to show my sentiment. I outlined the window and the birds breast with some glitter to highlight these two areas. I used StazOn Black & Pumpkin Pie Ink Pads. I also used the Ticket Corner Punch and some White Organdy Ribbon. This was a hard one for me...not a color combination I would have picked myself, but am glad for these throw downs to expand my color pallet. Check out more cards using these colors HERE!

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

Color Throw Down #52

So for this weeks Throw Down Challenge Card, I used the 'Embrace Life' Set. I used Vanilla, Choclate Chip, Certainly Celery, and Perfect Plum CS. For ink I used Black StazOn, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Chocolate Chip, and Certainly Celery. I water colored with my Aqua Painter, added red sticky Tape and Micro Beads to the bottom of the card and a few Micro Beads to the flowers to make them pop a little (I used a glue pen for this). I also used the Spiral Punch & a Sponge Dauber.

I appologize this is not a very good picture...but hopefully you can see the Micro Beads I used on the bottom of the card and on the flowers. It gave it that extra bling factor to the card!

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

I used two sets this week to complete my Color Throw Down Card.
1) Crazy For Cupcakes - pg. 68 $23.95 (Balloon)
2) Party Hearty - pg. 69 $26.95 (Sentiment)
I used the Scallop Circle Punch - pg. 186 $15.95
and also the 1" & 3/4" Circle Punches. They can also be found on pg. 186 and both are $10.95. I stamped the balloons on my Whisper White CS, then I stamped them on Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, and Kiwi Kiss. I cut them out and mounted them with adhesive onto the card (I also added some Craft Whisper White Ink with a Blender Pen to give a shadow effect on each of the balloons). I then stamped in Black StazOn the sentiment and punched it out. I punched the other circles and adhered them to each other. Then I sponged around the card in Tempting Turquoise, and added a ribbon in the same color. Lastly I added my sentiment with Dimensionals. I hope you enjoy this idea. Just a side note...you can also stamp your balloons onto DSP and then cut them out. This will give your balloons some pattern/design.

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

This weeks colors are Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip, and Soft Sky. Wow these colors took me back! I LOVED these two In-Colors. I was amazed that I had both colors of CS left laying around. I used Water Color Paper and my Aqua Painter to watercolor the rose from the Fifth Ave Floral Set. I used Whisper White Craft Ink for the image outline on the Soft Sky CS and for the greeting on the Chocolate Chip CS. I also used it to Heat Emboss my rose on the Water Color Paper. I used the Eyelet Border and the Horizontal Slot Punches. I did use some Martha Stewert ribbon I had on had from another project. Not quite Soft Sky, but it worked and it was edged in a chocolate color.

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for being SO patient with me today. Between Craft Camp, appointments, a son turning 16 today, and taking dinner to a friend who just had back surgery...I haven't gotten a chance to play until tonight! I'm grateful for an excuse to pull out my Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette pads! It's not even the end of June yet and I already am in the mindset of our newest colors.

The set I used is called "Simply Said" and can be found on page 52. It's number is #115066 for $28.95. I do use this set alot when I have to make quick cards, and I have a favorite layout I seem to use as an old standby! Today though I used the Carousel Notes, Silver Beads from the Bead Duo, Black StazOn Pad, Pretty In Pink 1/4" Grosgrain and the Horizontal Slot Punch. I hope you enjoy! PLEASE check out other terrific cards using these same colors HERE!
HAPPY STAMPING,

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

I LOVED this weeks color challenge colors! I took my cue from the circles in their photo and implemented them into my card because I liked them so much.
ITEMS I USED...
Card Stock: Green Galore, Pink Passion, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
Ink Pads: Black StaZon, Green Galore, Pink Passion, Yo Yo Yellow, Pretty In Pink, & Chocolate Chip.
Punches: Scallop Oval, Large Oval, 1", 3/4", & 1/2" Circle Punches.
Other: Stapler, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter, Soft Subtle Brads, 5/8" Regal Rose Grosgrain, Sponge Dauber.

I made a pull out card for challenge card. I lined up the Scallop Oval punch/saying with the scallop Oval Punch opening on the Chocolate Chip CS. I ran the ribbon along the inside of the card by using my exacto knife to cut a slit for it. Then used Red Sticky Tape to adhere together.

I water colored the cupcake from the Crazy For Cupcakes Set I used. I also used a piece of ribbon for a pull tab behind the greeting to make it easier to pull in & out.

HAPPY STAMPING,
KENDRA

Color Throw Down Challenge Card

So for this weeks Color Throw Down Challenge Card - it's "simple is best". Or in this case...quick! My mom, sister & her children arrived last night for my daughter, Jessica's, graduation. Yes, I am old enough to have a child graduate from high school! But only just barely. We are excited for tonight and her future at the University of Arizona.
So long story short...I promised my family a big homecooked breakfast, so my card this morning had to be quick, lot's of preparation for the party and festivities tonight.
I used the Petal Pizzazz Set. Page 90 - $32.95 (7). I also used the Doodle Wheel, 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon, dimensionals, fine cosmo glitter, and the spritzer tool.

This picture shows you how the card can open/swivel on a brad to reveal a place to write a note to the intended. It is a fun card to make nd the possibilities are endless. Change up the stamp set for a completely different look. SIDE NOTE: The carousel scallop note card is not Riding Hood Red.(It's close) You can actually tell a difference if you look closely at the pictures. The scallop carousel note card is actually Ruby Red. The strip of paper accross the front of the card is Riding Hood Red. (It's darker and a crisper color)

HAPPY STAMPING,
KENDRA
